The Ultraviolet SensorMeter is especially topical enabling students to monitor UV irradiance throughout the day or investigate the effects of barriers such as creams and sunglasses to UV radiation. Three selectable ranges are provided which cover those levels of UV irradiation likely to be found. The separate hand held probe supplied with the SensorMeter enables directional readings of UVA and UVB to be taken. Ranges: 0 to 100Wm-2, 0 to 10Wm-2, 0 to 1Wm-2. Readability: 0.01Wm-2. Technical Specification:. Resolution, display: ±0.5% full scale. Accuracy, display: ±12%. Accuracy, computer output: ±10%. Battery Life (MN1604): 90 hours. Spectral Response: UV(a+b) probe: 260 - 400nm. Spectral Response: UVb probe: 260 - 310nm. Peak Response: UV(a+b) probe: 370nm. Peak Response: UVb probe: 290nm. UV Sensing Area of the Probe: 0.48mm² This can be used investigations into the effectiveness of barrier creams and sun creams.
