The Pathways to Write Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) and British Values scheme inspires teaching of these important areas. The SMSC pack is a set of units to use with pupils from EYFS -Y6 on the of topic of refugees and are inspired by emotive and highly engaging texts. Each unit comprises 15 sessions and is designed to be delivered over 3 to 4 weeks. These detailed lesson plans and resources are linked to high-quality texts. They will develop spoken language, vocabulary, and reading and writing skills through the mastery approach. Each unit will also provide effective teaching strategies to challenge greater depth writers using the Pathways to Write methodology. The units are based on the following texts:.
